Pat Fenlon survives torrid afternoon as he finally secures first Hibs win at Cowdenbeath

Robertson's 69th minute goal ignited a thrilling fightback from which, with a little more luck and composure, Cowdenbeath could easily have secured a draw. It was a marvellously well-worked effort, too, as he lifted the ball over the head of defender Sean O'Hanlon before clipping it past Mark Brown with the outside of his foot.

"It was fantastic," said Cowdenbeth player/manager Colin Cameron. "That's what he's great at. He's a box-to-box player and he times his runs well. He had a fantastic first touch and he had composure with the second touch to score.

"I can see him playing at a higher level. But there are a few others in that team who have the ability. This was an opportunity to show what they are capable of and they didn't let themselves down."

The hapless O'Hanlon had also been caught out by Cowdenbeath's remarkable first goal. It came when Cameron steered the ball through to Greig Stewart, on the edge of the Hibs box, and the striker bamboozled O'Hanlon with his turn before lashing his shot home.

The equaliser was spectacular, though, a looping 30-yard shot by Leigh Griffiths in the 18th minute drawing Hibs level. Eoin Doyle then nudged the Easter Road side in front nine minutes later when he was alert to the rebound after home goalkeeper Thomas Flynn had blocked his first
attempt, with the third Hibs goal provided by David Wotherspoon, who got his head to a driven cross by Daniel Galbraith eight minute into the
second half.
